- REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL Exhaust System Maintenance Services The Brooklyn Job Corps Academy is soliciting bids for Exhaust System Maintenance Services for two kitchens. The Brooklyn Job Corps Academy is a federally funded vocational and educational training program that services youth between the ages of sixteen (16) and twenty-four (24) in a nonresidential setting. The program operates year round with approximately 200 nonresidential trainees in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn at 585 DeKalb Avenue, Brooklyn NY. This program is run by ResCare, for the United States Department of Labor. SCOPE OF WORK: • Quarterly cleaning of the exhaust systems of our two kitchens • Assure that all systems are cleaned and working properly. PERFORMANCE PERIOD: This agreement shall be in effect from October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010. Successive renewal of this contract may be made subsequent to annual solicitation of services following the first year. Additional work may be requested from time to time, which shall be authorized by written change to the resultant agreement. SAFETY AND HEALTH: All work shall be accomplished in a safe and efficient manner, with minimal disruption to the operation of the Academy. The subcontractor represents, by acceptance of any resultant agreement that they are in compliance with all regulations and standards flowing from the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (P.O. 91-596,29 USC 651 et seq.) and further that in the event hazardous materials are involved, will comply with Federal Standards No. 310 dated July 1971 to the latest change, entitled "Symbols for Packages and Containers for Hazardous Chemicals and Materials." VENDOR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Vendor acknowledges that by acceptance of any resultant agreement, that all work and materials used in the performance of the contract duties meet federal, state, local and OSHA regulations. Vendor must acknowledge by signature that all work performed will be with the NFPA Code 96 Standard for Ventilation Control Fire Protections of Commercia1 Cooking Operations sections 8-3 and 8-3.1. Vendor will also acknowledges by signature that the specifications, terms, conditions and instructions set forth herein are acceptable and that if selected they are willing and legally able to begin performance of services on October 1, 2009. PROPOSAL SUBMISSION: Interested parties should respond to the above solicitation by the COB on September 14, 2009 to be eligible for award. Bidders are encouraged to visit the site and become familiar with the physical layout of the facility where the services are to be provided.
