- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FORLEADER-FOLLOWER WORKSHOP. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote.This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a writtenamendment will not be issued.The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions.The due date for receipt of offers is not extended.Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS). Documents related to this procurement are availableover the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/DFRCBusiness Opportunities home page ishttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=24 Q.1Whether these workshops are considered one-time workshops, or are they intendedto become part of a continuing communications course? A.1They are intended as one-time workshops.Q.2Whether the leader workshop is considered a "train the trainer" course and/or onethat primarily assists leaders (managers?) in working with their subordinates to increasetheir communications skills in the course of everyday work life? A.2Not a train the trainer course, but one that trains leaders and followers.Q.3Whether it would be permissable to build interactive exercises that would allowboth "leaders and followers" to work together on some of the same issues?A.3Yes.Q.4Is there an incumbent or is this the first time these training programs will bepresented? A.4There is not an incumbent. Q.5WHY is it being presented at this time--What's driving it?A.5The results of several culture surveys indicate an issue with top down, andbottom up communication.Q.6Who is the audience?A.6Supervisors for one class, employees for the other. Q.7How many people will attend each workshop?A.715-20Q.8Will the workshops be half-day, full-day or multiple day.A.8Full dayQ.9Will the training sessions be back-to-back--ie., do the supervisors first andthen follow that with the employees?A.9Back-to-back.Q.10 Are both workshops at the same time--i.e. simultaneously, which would mean youwould need TWO trainers to do the work.A.10 See answer to question 9 above. Q.11 Will participants be given a copy of the book "Courageous Followers" or will theyhave read the book prior to the training?A.11 The book is available on line in our LMS. Do not expect attendees to have read thebook before attending.Q.12 Is the Thomas-Killman Conflict Model Instrument or other such instrument beingconsidered as part of the training program to teach students/leaders how to listen toopposing views on touchy subjects?A.12 No specific instrument is being considered. Specific course content/technique willbe up to the contractor. Q.13 Where will the training be and will they provide the training room and VCR/laptopand audiovisuals needed?A.13 Training will be at the NASA-DFRC Learning Center Edwards CA, or the Aero Institutein Palmdale, CA. Classrooms are AV equipped.Q.14 Will you have access to key personnel to help you craft one or two case studies forthe training to target them to both the students and the Leaders' issue?A.14 YesQ.15 Has either group of leaders or followers been exposed to the principles and/or bookCourageous Followers?A.15 No.Q.16 How many facilitators do you want for each session?A.16 No more than two.Q.17 How much time will there be between sessions (hours or days)?A.17 See answer to question 9 above.
