Description
RECOVERY--The work to be performed under this project consists of providing the labor, supervision, overhead, tools, equipment, vehicles, transportation, per diem, and materials to remove existing paint (herein referred to as abrasive blasting but including water blasting, mechanical or chemical stripping, chipping, etc, as required) from all non-galvanized steel structural members of the Bonnet Carre Spillway structure, repainting same, and all incidental work as described in the specifications. The work will be performed 20-30 feet above ground level and fall protection in accordance with OSHA requirements (29 CFR 1926 Subpart M) will be required. Scaffolding, cherry-pickers, and/or scissors lifts may be required in order to accomplish the work. NOTE: The existing paint to remove contains lead small concentrations of lead ( 4500 ppm). The solicitation will issue on or about 08 September 2009 with an Established Bid Opening Date of 07 October 2009. The estimated value of this work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. This procurement is COMPETITION RESTRICTED to SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES ONLY. NAICS Code: 237990. The estimated time of completion is 180 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. The solicitation documents for this procurement will be posted on Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI).
