- This is a synopsis of proposed contract action. The 516 Aeronautical Systems Group (516 AESG) anticipates issuing, in September 2009, a sole source solicitation to The Boeing Company, 2401 East Wardlow Road, Long Beach, CA 90807-5309 for continued production of a firm eight (8) plus five (5) individual option C-17 USAF aircraft with associated data and support equipment. The solicitation anticipates a new delivery order on an existing sole-source indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract currently being performed by Boeing (FA8614-06-D-2006). Execution of the options will be dependent upon future USAF requirements, available funding, and foreign military sales (FMS). The anticipated period of performance for this contract action is Oct 2009 through Sep 2011. A complete re-procurement data package! is not available. The purpose of this synopsis is to determine whether any competitive sources exist and to notify industry of the impending action so that possible subcontracting opportunities may be pursued. Interested firms should indicate whether they are a large business, small business, small disadvantaged business (SDB), woman-owned small business (WOSB), 8(a)-certified business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB), veteran-owned small business (VOSB), or Historically Underutilized Business small business (HUBZone), as well as the number of employees! relative to the size standard of 1,500. Responders shall include their assigned DUNS number and their Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code. The offeror must: (1) possess or demonstrate the ability to possess program management, program assembly, engineering, financial, contracting, and quality assurance personnel; (2) possess or demonstrate the ability to possess the material, engineering, factory and flight test equipment, physical facilities; (3) be a responsible contractor with demonstrated, recent total aircraft system responsibility; (4) be capable of delivering fully qualified aircraft in October 2010; and (5) include in their response to this synopsis evidence of these capabilities. The Boeing Company has met the above requirements satisfactorily. Potential subcontractors must demonstrate the same type capabilities for subcontracted components/assemblies and any other criteria deemed necessary by the prime contractor.
