- Description
- Technical questions were required by 25 August 2009. Below are the questions and answers which were asked. 1.Question) Lifting Eye Bolts - Where are they located? Top or Bottom. Answer) The lifting bolts should be located on the top of the shelter. 2.Question) Horizontal run of uni-strut on interior walls. What is the location and purpose? Answer) The unistrut is for attaching equipment racks to the wall. The standard mounting locations on equipment racks is 18.5 inch and 80.5inch, The each rack will hold approximately 600+ lbs of equipment and the floor should support said weight. 3.Question) Recessed Door - Can it open inward? Answer) The door must open inward due to potential snow accumulation against the outside of the door. 4.Question) Two exterior lights- Where are they located? Answer) The exterior lights should be located; one by the door and a 2nd light on the opposite side of the building. 5.Question) (12) Interior ground fault interrupter duplex outlets - Where are they located? Answer) The interior outlets can be evenly spaced around the inside. 6.Question) Are there blueprints to this project? Answer) No blueprints are available. 7.Question) The exterior and interior finishes are not specified, what they should be made of. Answer) The shelter should be constructed of corrosion resistant fiberglass with the walls and the roof being molded in one piece. 8.Question) The deadlines for questions and submittal of offer are listed, what about delivery date for the building? Answer) The building should be expected to be delivered no more than 90 days after the award of contract. 9.Question) Framing type is not specified. Although it appears it should be a steel structure, based on existing specification is wood acceptable? Answer) The shelter needs to be electromagnetically transparent, with the exception of the door hardware. The recessed door needs to have a neoprene seal which allows for less dust intrusion and greater flexibility in sub-zero temperatures. 10.Question) Delivery location is stated as: US Army Fort Greely Alaska, however, the Place of Performance is: Yuma Proving Ground. Answer) Delivery is to include all applicable taxes, freight and handling charges to US Army Fort Greely Alaska. The contract is being administered at YPG. 11.Question) Can you tell me who will be responsible for offloading the building at its destination? Answer) The building will be offloaded by CRTC at Ft. Greely. 12.Question) Will you all be providing the foundation? Answer) The shelter should be portable; hence it does not require a foundation, only level ground.
