- The VA Medical Center Sheridan Wyoming, located at 1898 Fort Road,Sheridan, Wyoming is soliciting Bids for a Water Treatment PlantRehabilitation project. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)Sheridan VA Medical Center, is soliciting bids under Solicitation NumberVA-259-09-RP-0390 for the following: VA Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Project. This project is toprovide all labor, transportation, plant, supporting tools/equipment andsupervision necessary to replace the existing diatomaceous earth-basedwater filtration and treatment plant at the Sheridan Veterans AffairsMedical Center, Sheridan, Wyoming with a membrane filtration system.The estimated cost of the project is between $1,000,000 and $1,5000,000.Resultant filtration system will tie into the existing water supplynetwork that supplies potable drinking water to the hospital. As the VAMedical Center has a 600,000 gallon tower to serve the station, wateroutages will be kept to less than 2 days in duration. The contractorshall complete the entire work to be ready for use not later than 180calendar days after the date of acknowledgment of the Notice to Proceed. CONTRACT DURATION: Performance period is approximately 180 calendar daysfrom date of receipt of Notice to Proceed. The estimated construction range is between $1,000,000.00 and$1,500,000.00. This project is advertised pending availability ofGovernment funds. METHOD OF AWARD: THE GOVERNMENT CONTEMPLATES AWARD OFA FIRM FIXED-PRICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT SOLICITED AS A SERVICE DISABLEDVETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE. Award will be made on acompetitive basis under Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) 15 to aresponsible business responding to this solicitation. In accordancewith P.L. 109-461, Veterans First Contracting Program, this acquisitionis set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns.NAICS Code 237110 is applicable to this acquisition with a Business SizeStandard of $28.5 million. Solicitation documents will be availableelectronically on or about September 10, 2009 at the FedBizOpps websiteat http://www.fedbizopps.gov. NO HARD COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILLBE ISSUED. A site visit and pre-proposal conference is scheduled forSeptember 3, 2009, 1:00 p.m. (Mountain Time), at the Sheridan VAMC, 1898Fort Road, BLDG 5, RM 219, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801. Prospective biddersare encouraged to attend this site visit to familiarize themselves withthe project site and conditions which may affect your cost proposal.Upon review of the solicitation documents, prospective bidders areencouraged to provide questions and comments, in writing, in regards tothe solicitation documents prior to the scheduled site visit.Solicitation number VA-259-09-RP-0390 has been assigned and should bereferenced on all correspondence regarding this announcement andsolicitation.
