Description
FULL INSTRUCTIONS FOR RFQ DOL092J10525 OCCUPATIONAL OUTLOOK HANDBOOK SPANISH WORD COUNT SOLICITATION This solicitation is for translation services listed below and is being submitted in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections is seeking a contractor to provide services to translate selected portions-including text and tables-of the English version of the Occupational Outlook Handbook into Standard Latin American Spanish. The Bureau also requires an English-to-Spanish translation of an article from the summer 2009 Occupational Outlook Quarterly, including text, tables, and charts. The objective is to disseminate career information in Spanish that is intelligible to a diverse Spanish-speaking audience, while accurately reflecting the syntax, writing style, and factual information in the English version of the corresponding OOH chapters, or "statements," and the summer 2009 OOQ article. Because the translated documents will be read by a diverse Spanish-speaking U.S. audience, the final product must avoid a final translation with a strong national or regional flavor. Occupational Outlook Handbook: The OOH is published in December of every other odd year; the 2010-11 edition will be published on the Bureau's public web site in December 2009. The Bureau wishes to have a translated version of a subset of occupational statements, available on the web site by December 2010. Based on an analysis of the Bureau's web usage statistics, the EP program has selected 100 occupational statements for translation in FY 2010 The contract length will be for one year 09/25/2009 -09/24/2010. If your company is interested in this solicitation, please submit proposal on or before 09/15/2009 at 3:00PM ET. Questions should be submitted to Joan Gant at email gantt.joan@bls.gov and must be received no later than September 3, 2009 at 3:00PM ET.
