Description
UPDATE: The following questions have been asked: Question 1. I would like some clarification on section 35 20 16.53 Vertical Lift Gates. I would like yo know if it is OK to bid stainless steel sluice gates, thimbles and bulkheads on the Devils Lake, Creel Bay Project? At the present time the Devils Lake, Eagle Point Pump Station has stainless steel sluice gates which were installed in 1996. Answer: Please see Section changes in Amendment 0001 for clarification. Question 2. We respectfully request clarification on the following: 1. Section 22 10 00.10 Vertical Pumps paragraph 1.2.2.a states "Discharge not less than 25,000 gal/min against total head corresponding to a static head of 33.5 feet with water surface in sump elevation1425.2 feet. This corresponds to 37 feet of Total Dynamic Head (TDH)." a. A static head of 33.5 feet would make either the discharge pipe or discharge water level at elevation 1458.7 feet. Drawing S-305 and C-402 show the discharge pipe invert at elevation 1465.7. This would make the static head 43.54 feet if the static head is calculated to top of the pipe. Conservatively, the static head would be calculated to the top of the pipe as long as the gate well is open to atmosphere as it appears to be. b. Paragraph 1.6.2 of the above mentioned section Static Head may state the calculation incorrectly if the gate well is open to the atmosphere. c. Please confirm Static Head. Answer: Please see Section changes in Amendment 0001 for clarification. UPDATE: Amendment 0001 (along with attachments) has been posted. See Amendment documents for information.
