The USDA Forest Service Savannah River will be extending its current domestic water line at its office complex located within the DOE Savannah River Site. The work shall consist of tapping into the existing water line and installing a new section of line (approx. 350 LF of 2” PVC). The work shall include mobilization, limited clearing and grubbing (about 50 SF), excavation (including approximately 60’ of asphalt surfacing), and installation of PVC piping and associated fittings and valves. Due to underground interferences, excavation by hand will be required (at least 50% of excavation). The work also includes resurfacing the asphalt section (approximately 30 SY) and where the line crosses an aggregate surfaced road. The estimated construction cost is less than $25,000. The solicitation will be issued on or around 12 Aug 2009. The size standard is $33.5. million under NAICS code 2337110. This is an emerging small business set-aside solicitation. Savannah River Site is a restricted access Government facility and vehicle searches are done on all vehicles entering the Site. No contraband items, such as guns, ammunition, drugs etc. are allowed on Site. A picture ID of persons entering the Site is required. A site visit will be held. Information will be provided when the solicitation is posted to this website. A minimum of 72 hours is required to process any security badge requests for U.S. Citizens and up to 30 days could be required for non-U.S. citizens. Contractors should pay close attention to the deadlines to submit information required to gain access for site visit included in the solicitation. Offerors must register on the site in order to receive notification of changes to the solicitation. The offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for release of the solicitation and any subsequent postings. All interested parties must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) as prescribed by FAR Clause 52.204-7 and ORCA.
