Description
THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS AS DESCRIBED BELOW. The subject project will be awarded to the identified vendor below as a work order to a contract number F08CC10418, a previously competed indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract. The vendor: PB Americas, 465 Spring Park Place, Herndon, VA 20170 (703)742-5818 Description: The Contractor shall provide construction management support services for the Office of Engineering Design and Construction (OEDC), Smithsonian Institution (SI) for the period of September 1, 2009 (or date of award, if later) through April 30, 2010 (eight months). The Contractor shall provide support to the SI NZP American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) Projects, including: Renovate Slate Hill Barn (OFEO Project No. 0970103) Replace Waller Barn Roof (OFEO Project No. 0970104) Install Utility Loop for Water/Fire Protection (OFEO Project No. 0970105) Complete Renovation of Greenhill Barn (OFEO Project No. 0970106) The Contractor shall perform the following functions: Coordinate with NZP and OFEO to develop acceptable, minimally disruptive traffic control and staging plans. Review and manage Critical Path Management (CPM) schedules for the multi-discipline construction projects. Inform RE and/or COTR of progress and identifies potential schedule delays. Responds to inquiries and resolves scheduling problems. Monitor the construction activities of the general contractor, sub-contractors and consultants, providing detailed technical reports of such activities, taking necessary action to correct deficiencies and identifying areas of potential problems. Take progress photos, provides dates and captions. Work closely with COTR and/or RE to insure that the contract specifications and plans are implemented accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal codes, regulatory requirements and meet engineering and technical standards. Work closely with COTR and/or RE to insure reporting requirements and other stipulations of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) as incorporated in the construction contract are followed promptly and accurately. Continually review engineering and technical specifications of the project to determine accuracy as compared to actual on-site conditions. In consultation with the COTR and/or RE, take corrective action as required, revising specifications or calculations and coordinating such. Monitoring work being performed and site conditions for compliance with safety and engineering standards. Review statements of work for accuracy and completeness. Provide contract administration services such as review of submittals, requests for information (RFI), value engineering proposals, correspondence preparation, etc. Provide service to SI customers via telephone, e-mail and in person. Other related services. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 236220, and the annual size standard is 33.5 Million Dollars. The estimated price range of this requirement is between $100,000 and $250,000. It is the Smithsonian's intent to award this project to the successful bidder 15 days after the posting of this Notice.
