- Description
- NASA is seeking capabilities from large businesses, as well as from small, 8(a),HUBZone, women-owned small businesses, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned,and/or Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) for the purposes ofdetermining the appropriate level of competition for the KSC Constellation Program GroundElements Command Control and Communications Recording and Retrieval System. Responsesshall also include the following (limited to six (6) pages or less): name and address offirm, size of business, average annual revenue for past three (3) years and number ofemployees, ownership, business category as described above; number of years in business;affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potential teamingpartners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime); andpoint of contact position, address and phone number, list of customers covering thepast five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type,dollar value of each procurement; and point of contact - address and phone number). NASA plans to procure a multi-site data recording & retrieval system to supportprocessing and launch of spacecraft and launch vehicles at the Kennedy Space Center. Thesystem is conceived as being primarily composed of commercial, off-the-shelf hardware andsoftware products including high-performance, modular servers, network recordingequipment, multiple online/nearline storage tiers with individual capacities up to 1 PB,and appropriate storage networking infrastructure. Sources shall be capable of systemdesign, product specification, system installation, configuration & checkout, systemintegration with a complex industrial control system, and software development offunctions/features that are not off-the-shelf.Qualified sources shall have extensiveexperience with products related to data recording, storage, retrieval and archive in amission-critical aerospace environment.All responses should be submitted no later than Wednesday, September 9, 2009 to the pointof contact listed below. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites forthe release of any solicitation or synopsis. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemedfully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based onresponses hereto. All responses shall be submitted to the point of contact listed below.
