- ITEM LIST RECOVERY Subject: RECOVERY ISS Network Sensor Appliances Notice type: Special notice RECOVERY – THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY REQUIREMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA), PUBLIC LAW 111-5. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVALABLE ONLY TO CURRENT CONTRACTORS UNDER GENERAL SERVICE ADMINISTRATION (GSA) FEDERAL SUPPLY SCHEDULE. THE NAICS CODE IS 423430 WITH A SIZE STANDARD OF $25.0 million. THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY (NIST) SEEKS TO PROCURE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: See attachment for the list of items and delivery instructions. Brand Name Justification: The manufacturer, IBM, is the only manufacturer of these products and provider of the maintenance support which is part of the procurement. This type of support is necessary for maintaining constant updates and support to reduce system vulnerability due to new security threats to our IT infrastructure. Applicability of Section 508: Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, does not apply to this solicitation because the items are located in an area only accessed infrequently by maintenance personnel.
