- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with GE Healthcare Biosciences, Piscataway, NJ 08854 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for two (2) each of the following: 1) 13682101 AKTA Purifier 10; 2) 18110776 PH/C-900 Monitor; 3) 18111105 Conductivity Cell Ph/C-900; 4) 18111114 Clamp Cond. Cell; 5) 18117740 Frac-920 Fraction Collector; 6)18117584 Air Sensor; 7) Sample Application Kit; 8) 11003596 Buffer Selection Kit; 9) 11003595 Colum Screening Kit; 10) 11003599 Fractionation Kit; 11) 17106801 Hiload 16/60 Superdex 75 Pre; 12) 17517501 Superdex 200 10/300GL; 13)17106901 Hiload 16/60 SuperDex 200 PR; 14) 17115401 Hi Trap Q 5x 5ml; 15) 17115201 Hi Trap SP 5x 5ml; 16) 28411005 Hi Trap Butyl HP, 5x 5ml; 17) 28411007 Hi Trap HIC Selection Kit; and 18) 28403841 Gel Filtration Cal Kit. This system allows the ability to routinely and efficiently purify biological macromolecules from complex mixtures such as tissue homogenates, or over-expressed recombinant protein from bacterial cell lysates, or other sources. The system supports separations and purification strategies for a variety of sample characteristics including sample molecular weight, net charge, hydrophobic character while maintaining native protein structure and biological activity. This system has the following required features: Flow rates of 0.001 - 10 mis/min; Pressure range of 0-25 Mpa to facilitate low to high pressure applications; Measures pH from 2-12 with accuracy of +0.1 pH units; Simultaneous measurement of three wavelengths of UV absorption between 190 and 700 nm; Linear UV measurement up to 2 AU; System pumps allows operation of the system at zero backpressure; Control software allows for time-based, volume-based or column-volumn based running of programs; and the system facilitates simultaneous attachment of multiple columns (as many as 8) to facilitate efficient variable purification schemes. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to GE Healthcare Biosciences. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 Emp. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures-Commercial Item Test Program in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
