Description

The VAMC facilities in Albany, NY has a requirement to expand the patient safety and recovery system that is currently in place at the Medical Center. The equipment that is needed are two (2) Emergency Locator Kit-Disks and ninety-five (95) Disk Transmitters. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, as no other equipment is compatible with the existing equipment which operates in the 216 MHz frequency range. That range is authorized to Locator Systems/LoJack, by the FCC and no other person tracking organization has authorization to broadcast in that range. For these reasons and because replacement of existing equipment would result in substantial duplication of costs it is the determination of the Contracting Officer that the only reasonable provider is Project Life Saver International.
