Description
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract in accordance to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), authorized or required by statue. The Research Department at the Providence VA Medical Center requires the MPVS Ultra Single Segment Pressure Volume System to be used in conjunction with the existing Echo Machine for the animal research facility. Under statue 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) Providence VA Medical Center intends to make a sole source award of this requirement to Millar Instruments, Inc. The proposed contract action is for the MPVS Ultra Single Segment Pressure Volume System which is the only software-driven pressure-volume system capable of measuring 1 to 7 segments of volume and two pressures. The MPVS System will be procured for the Echo Machine in the animal facility conducting cardiovascular research. This system provides state of the art technology. The Government intends to award to only one source Millar Instruments, Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). This specific system is available exclusively through the manufacturer offering the only state of the art technology Mikro-Tip sensor catheter of this type available. Millar Instruments is the sole source manufacturer of these catheters and equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available.
