Description
Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) Statement of Work THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. It is the intent of the National Institutes of Health, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences to negotiate on sole source basis with Gilson, Inc., P.O. Box 620027, Middleton, WI 53562-0027 to provide upgrade to HPLC System. We use these equipments for pre-clinical research, quantitative and qualitative analysis of radiolabeled peptides, proteins and various other compounds. These equipments have break down often because of age thus consuming much time for analyzing and preparing the proper products. Gilson is the sole manufacturer for Unipoint HPLC equipment and software upgrade which controls whole HPLC system in the laboratory. The upgrade is needed to continue our research projects with NIAID without any delays. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirements. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Size Standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
