Description
RECOVERY - Blue River Dam Regulating Outlet Hydraulic System Repair. Contractors should take note because this work is being funded by the America Recover and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). There are special requirements and clauses associated with this act and they will be located in section 00800 of the awarded Task Order. The most up today information on ARRA requirements can be found at: http://www.recovery.gov This project is being awarded under an existing Indefinite Quantity, Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) construction contract already awarded to Saybr Contractors, Tacoma, Washington, DUNS: 160070538, as Task Order 0005. The Blue River Regulating Outlet slide gates are comprised of two service gates and two emergency gates. The gates are controlled with a 2000 psi pressure hydraulic oil system. The hydraulic system experiences a hydraulic hammering effect or vibrating/pulsating (noise) during gate operation under head pressure (load). It is believed that the noises have been occurring for longer than 10-years but have become worse in the past year, or two. In addition there had been large amounts of water discovered in the hydraulic system which has created a corrosive environment for the system control valves, cylinders, and piping. The work under this contract consists of providing all labor, material, and equipment required to replace the existing Regulating Outlet Gates Hydraulic System at Blue River. The work shall consist of demolition of the existing system (leaving the cylinders), design and installation of a new hydraulic power unit, and associated valves, piping, and controls. At the Government's discretion the cylinders shall be disassembled, inspected and refurbished under the optional Contract Line Items. The administrative point of contact (POC) is Randy Montalbano, Contract Specialist, USACE-Portland District, Portland, Oregon.
