Description
(RECOVERY ACT) The National Institute on Aging, IRP intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a competitive basis for the purchase of a Glomax Luminometer System; under the Simplified Acquisitions. This notice may represent the only official notice. In the Laboratory of Clinical Investigation (LCI); at the National Institute of Aging, this equipment purchase will be used for the analysis of gene expression in a range of cancer cell lines in culture. The knowledge gained will help in the development of new therapeutic approaches aimed at suppressing these tumors. Interested persons may indentify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice is a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to June 1, 2009 will be considered by the Federal Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government. This is a solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 16.2 using competitive procedures. Theses procedures include those indentified under Subparts 6.1, 6.2 (Full and Open Competition and Full and Open Competition after Exclusions of Sources), and FAR Section 16.505(b) (1). The solicitation number is NIHAG2009066, and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions clauses are those in which the FAR has amended to incorporate for the use in RECOVERY ACT actions FAR Subpart 5.7 for pre-solicitation and award notices. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 325414 and the business size standard is 500.
