Description
The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center San Diego, CA hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Aerotech under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) requires two rotational stages which will be used to build a disturbance motion simulator to reproduce the vibratory motion of the tactical platform such as Navy ships or airplanes. The current HEL beam control testbed currently uses two smaller Aerotech ALAR series rotation states which meet or exceed the published performance requirement. The significance of this reliability in tandem with the current development and research schedule is based on these Aerotech stages. Other stages would require modification of the research plan which will increase development time and cost. Aerotech is the only known contractor that has the capability to meet the Government's need. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available. Interested firms shall submit information that indicates their ability to satisfy this requirement. Responses are due by 4:00 PM PST, 11 SEPT 2009, via email. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED. POC is Melissa Franz, melissa.franz@navy.mil Please reference N00244-09-R-0073.
