Description
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command-West, Presidio of Monterey has a requirement for the replacement of heating units and the repair of roof top exhaust fans at the Mare Island U.S. Army Reserve Center (USARC). The Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to provide a complete and usable project. Work involves but is not limited to: HEATING UNITS: Completely disconnect all electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems attached to the failed 5 ton and 7.5 ton York hydronic heating units. Remove existing heating units from building rooftop using a crane at contractor expense. Dispose of in an approved landfill. (Units are hydronic heat and contain no CFC or HCFC materials). Contractor shall install (1) 5 Ton heating unit and (1) 7.5 ton heating unit York or equal on existing foundations by use of a crane at contractor expense and secure with vibration isolators suitable for exterior application. Contractor to ensure mounting modifications if any are included in proposal. EXHAUST FANS: Replace all bearings and sheaves with new of correct size and rating. Replace 1 HP motors (Baldor or equal) with new heavy duty electric drive motors, and sheaves with identical size and rating. Install fan shafts with new bearings (Fafnir or equal) and sheaves. Check for proper alignment and clearances to prevent unit damage on start up. Lubricate all bearings with manufacturers. Replace safety grilles and mounting hardware using anti seize compound on fasteners exposed to weather. Install new electric 1 HP motors. Install new fused disconnect switch with exterior grade enclosure. Install new Liquitite conduit and fittings from disconnect switch to motor. Pull new wires from disconnect switch to motor. Test for rotation and polarity. All work is to be completed in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations, Scope of Work, Drawings, Solicitation, Amendments and Resulting Contract. Solicitation number W9124N-09-T-0210 will be available on or about 11 September 2009. MANDATORY SITE VISIT is scheduled for Tuesday, 15 September 2009 at 10:00am (PST). Site Visit location is: 1481 Railroad Avenue, Vallejo, CA. The primary Site Visit POC is Gary Van Tassel, 707-342-0722; gary.vantassel@usar.army.mil. Alternate Site Visit POC: Kent Jackson 562-795-2098 or cell 562-235-9967. Only contractors that sign in during the mandatory site visit will be considered for this acquisition. Proposals are due Monday, 21 September 2009 at 4:30 pm (PST). This acquisition is a 100 percent set aside for Small HUB Zone Business Concerns only. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 238220 with a size standard of $14.0 M. Performance period is 120 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Estimated magnitude for this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Payment and performance bonds are required for this project and must be submitted within 15 days after contract award. The contract will be a single award, Firm-Fixed-Price type contract.
