- Description
- The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, under a sole source basis, a purchase order to Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. The purpose of the acquisition is to procure the services of a contractor responsible for providing all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, and services necessary to produce a peer-reviewed publication on the costs savings and/or policies associated with preventing the development of chronic disease among women of reproductive age. The resulting analysis will provide substantial information on the economic impact of integrated chronic disease prevention and screening programs among women of reproductive age. The information will assist with the development of policy efforts in publicly funded clinics providing reproductive health services to women. The Research and Evaluation Team partners with agencies that deliver reproductive health services to at-risk women, including the Office of Population Affairs, which administers the Title-X programs, and Indian Health Services. This acquisition is being procured applying simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 13. The sole-source authority is found under FAR 13.106-1(b). Emory University is the only available source with the required expertise to perform under this synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services required are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, on September 20, 2009. Determination not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement. Respondents will assume all financial costs for preparing a response to this notice. The U.S. Government assumes no financial obligation for the preparation and distribution of prepared responses.
