- B.2Statement of Work Standard Custom Casework for the VA Salt Lake City PET Scanner Project# 660-09-79S 1. Background The Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) is in the process of constructing a build out of the Building 1, 1st Floor Nuclear Medicine shelled-in space area. The construction work includes (but is not limited to): "HVAC systems and ductwork construction."Medical gas system construction comprised of wall-mounted oxygen, medical air and medical vacuum systems."Plumbing system construction comprised of new fixtures, waste, vent, potable hot and cold water lines."Installation of electronic control and monitoring systems for the new HVAC equipment."Custom casework, standard and lead-lined."All finishes including tile, floor coverings, wall protection, etc."Electrical, fire alarm, CCTV and nurse-call systems."Fire sprinkler systems. 2.Scope of Work Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, and labor needed to install standard, custom plastic laminate casework in the shelled-in space on the first floor of the Nuclear Medicine wing of Building 1 (B.1). This work includes but is not necessarily limited to: "Plastic laminate casework with European hinges, wire pulls, adjustable shelving, grommets, etc."Plastic laminate adjustable shelving."Plastic laminate countertops with bullnose edge, coved backsplash, and sidesplash where appropriate."Rubber base at cabinets."Black vinyl T-mold edge banding on drawers and doors."Coordination with plumbing fixtures."Filler pieces for space between top of cabinets and ceiling."Proper, precise alignment of all door pairs."Following all manufacturers' instructions."Thorough wet cleaning, inside and out, after installation. 3. General All work must be performed according to any and all product manufacturer's instructions. When required or recommended by the manufacturer, at least one installer must be certified by the manufacturer. The successful casework contractor will need to coordinate when the work can be performed with the VA's contracting officer or COTR (Contracting Officer's Technical Representative). Copies of the available design drawings are available from the VA COTR. The Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) requires strict adherence to the Code of Federal Regulations 29, Part 1926, along with Infection Control Procedures and Interim Life Safety Measures that are contained in the contract drawings. This includes the requirement that the contractor have a "Competent Person" on the job at all times, and that all contractor employees have received a minimum of ten (10) hours of OSHA construction safety training or equivalent. All contractor employees will be required to pass a thorough background check, including fingerprinting, prior to receiving the required identification badges.
