Description

The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, in support of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) Bremerton, WA is soliciting for a firm, fixed price, supply type contract to be negotiated on a sole source basis with Detroit Diesel Corporation, one of their qualified distributors, for one (1) each diesel generator set Model 450-XC6DT3 with an option to purchase an additional two sets. Detroit Diesel is the OEM for the current generator sets in use on the cognizant cranes; thus, due to compatibility issues, the required items must be procured from subject contractor. Place of delivery is PSNS Bremerton, WA. The commercial solicitation will be issued on or about 11 September 2009 with a closing date of 21 September 2009. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Proposed contract to be procured in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13.5. Electronic submission of proposals/quotes is not available at this time.
