At Bardwell Dam, repair entails flattening the downstream embankment slope to match previous improvements to the adjacent embankment. Grade benched areas of shoreline to a uniform surface; apply geotextile filter fabric followed by application of bedding material; place riprap on repaired shoreline and tie in to exiting riprap. Approximately 2,100 linear feet of upstream shoreline will be armored by placement of riprap. Supportive activities will include earthwork, excavation, embankment fill, lime treatment, compaction, stockpiling of topsoil for reuse, downstream slope surface preparation, seeding, upstream slope shaping, geo-textile fabric placement, and placement of bedding material. Work requirements at Lake Lavon entails repair of erosion along a 1,300 feet long section of shoreline. Demolish the existing sea wall and follow with excavation of debris, backfill the area with sea wall debris at lowest level followed by topsoil, re-shape the disturbed area and follow with soil compaction, place geo-textile fabric and bedding materials, place rip-rap, and install a double-pipe safety rail fence.
