- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. In accordance withFAR 5.102 Availability of the Justification(a)(6). The Center ofAcquisition Innovations (CAI) 1615 Woodward Street, Austin, TX 78772 inaccordance with FAR 13.501 intends to negotiate a Brand Name Only sourceprocurement for a Dell, Inc. manufactured item. It will be to purchasethe Dell Optiplex 760 Ultra Small Form Factor with all in one 17"monitor with "Support for IT" and "The Keep Your Hard Drive serviceprograms from a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business(SDVOSB) inNASA SEWP program. This request is for notification purposes only, anddoes not constitute a Request for Proposal(RFP), a Solicitation, aRequest for Quote (RFQ) or, an indication that the Government will awarda contract for the items contained in this RFI. This notice is not tobe construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award acontract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any informationsubmitted as a result of this request. The Government does notreimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of theinformation being requested or, reimburse expenses incurred forresponses to this RFI. Any response to this notice must show clear andconvincing evidence that other than this Brand Name would beadvantageous to the Government. Respondents should identify theircompany name, address, email, telephone number and a name and telephonenumber of a point of contact having the authority and knowledge toclarify responses with government representatives. Submissions are dueNO LATER THAN 15 September 2009 at 4:00 P.M. C.S.T. and may be made byemailing a response to: Cesar.Fausto2@va.gov. A copy of your responsemay also be submitted through the FBO website. This RFI notification isbased on statutory authority of Brand name specification as required byFAR 13.501. This notice is part of the Government's market research, acontinuous process for obtaining the latest information from industry,with respect to their current and near-term abilities. BRAND NAME OFDell, Inc. is required due to level of support provided by vendor thatcannot be matched by any other. Dell Support for IT and Dell Keep yourhard drive program support services are personalized support that isdirected at IT Professionals. The Desktop needs to be able tofunction as one unit. The Desktop also needs to be able to be separatedand each unit function independently. The Desktop unit should be ableto be carried as one unit with a handle somewhere on top. Other PC'shave been found to be a single unit but not work independently as thisone does. This brand Name is understood to be for the manufacturedproduct only. Resellers will be solicited through SEWP first and thenthrough GSA resellers. This is only a Brand Name Requirement. Thefollowing is the manufacturer and a point of contact is provided: Dell,Inc.
