- The purpose of this notice is to advertise the intent of the USFS to award a sole sole source contract to Biochar Products to provide and operate a mobile fast pyrolysis reactorwith a cpacity of at least one dry ton of biomass per 24-hour day. The purpose of the award is that there is only one known source that can provide the equipment required and the purpose of the research and develpment effort is to evaluate financial feasibility, test the effect of different woody biomass feedstocks on the yields and chemical qualities of the produced bio-oil and biochar, to deceide on feedstock, and to field test this technology on-site.
