- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A QUOTE. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1 (b) on a sole source basis with the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park W 79th Street, New York, NY 10024-5192. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS FOR THIS REQUIREMENT. The total contract dollar amount will not exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. This procurement is for a professionally produced, high definition 7 to 9 minute film suitable for showing on a large screen display and in a variety of formats, including streaming and high resolution downloadable files. The film will focus on human evolution and infectious diseases, with emphasis on malaria. The film will take advantage of NIH-funded research and will be aimed at an informa lscience institution audience ( the general public as well as middle and high school students and teachers). Must also have an existing distribution network that will ensure the film is shown in several science centers and/or museums and distributed widely to audiences. The North American Industry Classification System Code 712110 and the size standard is $7.0 mil. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes preparation. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities to this requirement and submit written responses by email to holleyv@od.nih.gov, by September 15, 2009 at 10:00 am Eastern Standard Time. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
