Description
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Fort Bragg North Carolina intends to release a solicitation to Refurbish Crash 42 Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Vehicle. The contractor shall remanufacture, upgraded and modified an E-One Titan 4x4 ARFF apparatus, ID# Crash 42. The purpose of this project is to extend the useful life of this unit for an additional ten years by upgrading the fire suppression capabilities, and to correct numerous deficiencies that have developed through routine use. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to repair and correct any and all systems that would hinder or interfere with the use of the vehicle. It shall also be the contractor's responsibility to assure that the repairs, modifications, and upgrading procedures are in full compliance with the intended use of the vehicle. The remanufactured vehicle shall possess the mobility and fire suppression system performance capabilities recommended for acceptable NFPA 414, Standard for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Vehicles. It shall be capable of carrying 1500 gallons of water and 210 gallons of AFFF 3 percent concentrate for supporting four loads of water. It is the responsibility of the contractor to pick-up and delivery of the unit. This action will be conducted as a commercial service acquisition in accordance with FAR12 and 13.5. The Government intends to solicit this acquisition as a full and open competition. The resultant contract will be Firm Fixed Price contract. This requirement will have a period of performance of 210 days after award. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this Acquisition is 811310, Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automobile and Electronics) Repair and Maintenance. The Government anticipates issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) W9124-09-0379 on or around 15 September 2009 with a closing date of 21 September 2009. Potential offertory are responsible for monitoring this website for release of the solicitation package and amendments. All Offerors must be registered with Central Contractors Registry (CCR) per FAR 52.204-7. No papers copies of the solicitation will be mailed and telephone request will not be honored.
