- Description
- The Capital and Northeast Region (CNE) of the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) is responsible for executing the DAWIA training for the Acquisition Work Force within their region. The CNE Region encompasses the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, parts of Maryland and parts of the state of Virginia. This is the basis for needing a site location in Fredericksburg area. The Fredericksburg/Stafford Area is a high-density DAWIA student population area. Its also within local commuting distances for many of our faculty in this area. Additional space is needed to conduct required classes as part of the FY10 workload with 4 additional option years for the Directors of Acquisition Career Management for each Service and the 4th Estate. The Mid Atlantic region may also utilize this space on as needed basis. Contractor shall provide: 1) CNE requiresthe use of one or two classrooms, with the capability to hold 30-36 students, arranged in six workgroups of up to six students. The 6 tables should be approximately 30 inch x 60 inch. There should be 36-40 chairs available in the classroom at all times. 2) There is a need for a power source for up to 36 student laptops. 3) A Video services capability with a ceiling mounted projector and screen that instructor can control from the podium is required. 4) At least one networked printer, two preferred per classroom. 5) One computer for the instructor will be provided or the ability for the insructor to connect a laptop to the video equipment. Needs to have CD/DVD read/write capability and internet access. 6) Share drive or dedicated virtual server access. 7) 32 linear feet of whiteboards, should be provided in the classroom along with access to 6 flip chart easels. 8) Room area is approximately 1,200 square feet. 9) A minimum of atleast 2 breakout rooms are required to accommodate 6-10 students. A few courses require breakout rooms that will need to accommodate 16-18 students. All breakout rooms should be located in close proximity to the classroom for group activities: each room should be approximately 200-400 square feet with one or two tables in each room which are approximately 30 inch x 60 inch each and chairs for 6 - 10 or 16 - 18 students. 10) access to the building /classroom the Friday before the class starts to allow classroom set up. 11) access to building/classroom by 6:30 am the monday of the first day of class. The provider must be able to meet the specific requirements for each specific class (refer to the list in the deliverable section of the solicitation). One to two faculty/administrative rooms/space are needed for visiting professors. 12) Each room space should be about 400 square feet. space should include a telephone, PC with internet access and access to a fax and copier. 13) Storage space for CNE/DAU course material and supplies. This space would be adjacent to or within the classroom building accessible by faculty. this room is like a storage closet, with an approximate depth of 3 ft, width of 2 - 3 feet, and approximately 6 ft in height. 14) There should be hotels within a 5 mile radius to the location with a variety of eating establishments that are easy to access to students for breakfast, lunch and dinner activities. 15) One time start up costs (to be included as part of the overall agreed cost), may be required for furniture, computers and other expenses neede to conduct required number of classes. 16) Minimal yearly support costs may be incurred (to be included as part of the overall agreed cost) as part of the contract to provide for IT support and other administrative requirements.
