- Per FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items, this is a sole source notice of the Government's intent to modify an existing contract with the Washington Marriott to revise the dates and quantities for an event orginally synopsized as an option under the basic contract. The change is necessary to meet the current demands of the George C. Marshall Center's resident course schedule. The original contract identified an event tentatively scheduled to occur on 29 October - 06 November for 40 double rooms per night, 15 single rooms per night, and 1 single room per night for an advance party. The new dates for this event are scheduled to occur on 03 December - 11 December 2009 for 50 double rooms per night, 18 single rooms per night, and 2 advance party rooms per night. Recent market research indicates the Washington Marriott is the only hotel that can reasonably satisfy this requirement based on availability, location of the hotel in terms of its proximity to locations on the event itinerary in Washington DC, past performance history in successfully hosting similar events, and price. Resolicitation of this requirement is not considered to be in the best interest of the Government price and other factors considered.
