Description
USAMRAA/USAMMA has a requirement for a Advance Biosystems, ABI 7500 Fast DX Real Time PCR. USAMRAA intends to procure a sole source requirement for the equipment from the following large business organization: Applied Biosystems, 850 Lincoln Center Drive, Foster City, CA 94404, as a one-time equipment buy. This equipment cannot be provided by any other organization and as such, it is in the best interest of the Government to obtain it from Applied Biosystems. Requirement is a sole-source contract based on only one source being reasonably available (FAR 13.106(b) (1). The Applied Biosystem's ABI 7500 Fast DX instrument is the only platform validated by the FDA to perform diagnostic flue test researched at ARCENT/3D MDSC OCP (FWD). Applied Biosystems is the manufacturer and only authorized distributor. The 7500 Fast DX Real Time PCR System Laptop is real-time nucleic acid amplification and detection system that measures nucleic acid signals from reverse transcribed RNA and converts them to comparative quantitative readouts using fluorescent detection of dual labeled hydrolysis probes. Interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement may submit information about their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to: MAJ Bryan K. Preer, Contract Specialist via email at bryan.preer@amedd.army.mil no later than 8:00 AM EST, 21 September 2009. Submission should be emailed as either a pdf or MS office attachment. Submissions should be on company letterhead and include companys name, point of contact, address, phone number, fax number, DUNS Number, CAGE Code. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b) (1). This award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures (FAR Part 13). Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Thanks, BRYAN K.
