Description of Requirement: In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Pub.Ll 111-5, the Internal Revenue Service posts this notice of intent to issue a modification to an existing blanket purchase agreement TIRNO-Z-08-00014 for the purchase of PERFMAN License Upgrades and Maintenance from October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010 for the one time CHARGE 290 MIPS. The costs of these upgraded licenses is $12,252. These upgrades in licensing will be needed to support new workloads to the Internal Revenue Service mainframe environment. Mission critical tax applications will be affected by the changes implemented by the recovery act such that increased volumes and changes will require additional processing resources. The workloads include processing new Business Master File tax forms and handling increased volumes of queries to support customer interactions with the Internal Revenue Service for other tax application systems such as Corporate File OnLine. This acquisition will provide the software licenses and maintenance fees for the additional processor capacity needed to process these workloads.
