- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for one(1)creation and assembly of a dewar mechanicalcryosystem. This system will accommodate near a infrared camera that will observe earlyGamma-Ray Burst (GRB)in support of the Swift observatories for the project RATIR(Reionization and Transients Infrared). The specifications are as follows:RATIR(Reionization and Transients InfraRed)dewar -Cold space operating temperature:60K-90K -Cold space dimensions: ~10W" X 23L" x 7H" (TBR) -Fused silica vacuum window ~2.5" CA dia located on top of the dewar. -Cooling capacity>25W at 77K -Mounting holes provided for the warm optics assembly -Cold window mounted on the cold shield -Cold plast with bolt pattern to accommodate camera mechanical components -Cold plate vibration stability: ~<5 um -Dewar body and cold shield should be removable to provide full access to the internalcomponents mounted on the cold plate. -Environmental:Operating Temperature: 40C to -15C.Dewar optical, harness and mech features: -Spectral range 0.8-1.8 um -Accommodate round 4 51pin vacuum connectors (will be provided by the customer). -Provide routing space for the internal harness (the harness itself with be provided bythe customer.The dewar design shall be coordinated and approved by the customer before fabrication ofany components of the dewar. The deliverables shall include the dewar system with thedesign, engineering analysis, and documentation. The results of vacuum and cryogenicoperation of the dewar and vibration test measurements shall be included in the delivery.This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than 09/21/2009. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for therelease of amendments (if any).
