Description
The VA Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Region (VISN6) Centralized Acquisition Service of the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to procure sole source with Microbrightfield, Inc. (MBF Bioscience) of Williston, Vermont for a Neurolucida System and a Stereo Investigator System and related components. The Neurolucida System is a system for performing brain mapping, neuron tracing, anatomical mapping and morphometry. The Stereo Investigator system is for performing design-based stereology on isotropic or vertical (anisotropic) sections.NAICS code 423450 applies to this procurement. The estimated value of this procurement is ninety four thousand dollars ($94,000). The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement must submit information about their capabilities no later than 2:00pm, EST on 25 September 2009. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. This award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. No solicitation will be made available at this time. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
