- SUBJECT: Fiberoptic Backshells REF NO.: F1S0AF9231B001 DUE: 21 September 2009 POC: Zachary Bawden, 661-277-7583 DESC: The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), Edwards AFB intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to DRS Data and Imaging Systems. This acquisition is restricted. The NAICS code is 335932. The AFFTC has a requirement for ASVS Fiberoptic Backshells. These backshells will be used to seal environmentally from electromagnetic interference. The AFFTC has recently procured ASVS Cameras from DRS Data and Imaging Systems and the backshells are required in order to use these cameras. It has been determined that acquiring a backshell from any other contractor would not work with existing cameras. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a complete technical package, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government's requirement. In addition, the response should include any special requirements for a commercial contract (i.e., Commercial Financing, Warranty Provisions, Delivery Information, etc.) in accordance with FAR Part 12. Anticipated Award date is September 23, 2009. Responses must be received no later than (NLT) 2:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, September 21, 2009. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
