- Description
- RECOVERY - THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. ARRA Stimulus Advance Notification. SPECIAL NOTICE NUMBER: W91278-09-192-ARRA. Project number LN2 10988 Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) - Upgrade tide gauge equipment. CWIS (PPA Program Code): 7130 Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, AL. Description of Work: The Mobile District Corps of Engineers intends to issue a new firm fixed price contract to Design Analysis Associates, for H310 Submersible Pressure/Temp Transducer and data logger for Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) Upgrade Tide Gauge Equipment. Upgrade tide gauge equipment to increase reliability and improve Water Management functions. Newer equipment will result in lower maintenance costs and more reliable tide information which is critical to determining project depths. The upgrade would result in more accurate hydrographic surveys thereby reducing dredging costs and increasing navigational safety. The equipment replaces existing equipment and must be compatible with other associated gaging system equipment already in the field. The transducers are specifically manufactured by the sole source with SDI connection compatibility to work with the data loggers. The data loggers and associated modems are specifically manufactured by the sole source to be compatible with VHF data transmission requirements for the gage data. In addition, the data logger programming for the data collection platform is the same as for existing data loggers that are currently deployed, operated, and maintained by the Water Management technical staff. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This firm fixed contract will also incorporate contract clauses required for projects involving Recovery Act funds. POC: Mary F. Jackson, Contract Specialist, US Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Mobile,AL 36602; email: Mary.F.Jackson@usace.army.mil.
