Description

Sole Source Justification PATTERN GENERATOR: The solicitation number is FA8601-09-T-0116. The NAICS Code is 334515. The size standard is 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Aligent Technologies. The purchase is for a Pattern Generator and Infiniium Oscilloscope. Aligent Technologies is the only manufacturer capable of providing a direct replacement for 214A, 8340B and 8673D Series generators. Without the specific replacement items, identification friend-or-foe capabilities would be unsupportable. Additionally, Aligent has the only oscilloscope currently capable of displaying 15 Hz and 135Hz modulated signals at frequencies up to 2.5 GHz which are integral to tactical air navigation meausrements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within four (4) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
