Description

The Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, MS intends to issue a sole source award to GEOTEK LTD, Daventry GBR under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The requirement is for the purchase of Automated Sediment Sound Velocimeter System, quantity 1. The system is a non-destructive device used to collect compressional (P-Wave) velocity measurements in marine sediment core samples. The GEOTEK system is a fully automated computer/software driven system capable of proving high resolution data and is currently used by the Geotechnical Analysis Division. The anticipated contract value is $54,000 and estimated delivery is 12-16 weeks. The resulting purchase order will be a firm fixed price order. The applicable NAICS is 334519 with a business size of 500. This synopsis is published for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive offers. Any inquiries concerning this requirement are to be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Note 22.
