- For Informational Purposes Only. The Management & Operating (M&O) Contractor DUNS number is 175252894. The description of the work involved under this Work Authorization is shown below: Project entitled: “Neutron Cross Section Covariances for the Evaluated Nuclear Data Files Library.” The Principle Investigator is Patrick Talou; the project period is 09/2009 to 09/2012. Project entitled: “Nuclear Reaction Modeling for Actinides.” The Principle Investigator is Toshihiko Kawano; the project period is 10/2009 to 09/2012. Project entitled “Improved Prompt and Delayed Decay Spectra for Advanced Fuels.” The Principle Investigator is Anna Hayes; the project period is 10/2009 to 09/2012. NOTE: This action is awarded under Modification no. A091 that recognizes Work Authorization No. KB/AL03/9/ARRA-3, (LASO # RA-09-015) and is issued under M&O Contract number DE-AC52-06NA25396. This action is funded by Recovery Act dollars. Justification for Non-Fixed Price Type of Contract for WA: Los Alamos National Security was selected by the Department of Energy to participate in this American Recovery and Re-investment Act (ARRA) work due to Los Alamos National Laboratory’s expertise in the subject matter. The three projects are collaborations with other national labs. The funds support the work spelled out in the respective field work proposals consistent with the approved budgets. The work falls within the Nuclear Physics Program of the Office of Science, which is allowed under the prime contract Section J, Appendix B. Statement of Work Section 3.3 entitled High Energy and Nuclear Physics of the current Contract based on the following paragraph: “The Contractor shall conduct high energy and nuclear physics research involving experimental and theoretical programs in nuclear and particle physics.” This is a Cost-Reimbursable type contract.
