- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS) in Ames, IA intends to issue a sole source purchase order for one (1) Certek Model 1414 RH with Booster 100 – 200 CPM Blower (120V, 60hz)(Patented), Cart and Connection Hoses with Cam-Lock fittings and One (1) Automatic Formaldehyde Generator/Neutralizer Model # 5K Lab under the authority of FAR 6.302-2 and 42 U.S.C. 253(c)(2). The Formaldehyde Generator/Neutralizer are remote, programmed-controlled decontamination unit(s). Certek, Inc, a small business is the only commercially available manufacturer of a Automated Formaldehyde Generator/Neutralizer. This is a firm-fixed price with a total estimated value of $77,627.00. A deternination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12. Number 22 applies. This notice is for information purposes only.
