Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Acquisition Service Center VISN 9, in support of the VA Medical Center, Memphis, Tennessee, Research Service intends to award a firm fixed price contract for a rodent housing system. This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is VA-249-09-RQ-0381. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2000-07. NAICS code is 339112. Size standard is 500 employees. The rodent housing/cage and rack system will provide the following: quantity of eighteen (18) Cage and Rack Units. The Cage and Rack Units must be compatible with the existing animal housing system. Each unit will include: All stainless steel 98 cage Ventilated Rack; Jag 75 Mouse cage providing seventy-five square inches of floor space; 98 each High Temperature polysulfone mouse cage; 98 each stainless steel sheet metal design wire bar lids; 98 each High Temperature polysulfone Reduced Height Micro-Barrier tops; 98 each plastic 3 x 5 horizontal flip-up style cardholders; Edstroms automatic watering with fixed valves or comparable; Supply and Exhaust Blowers; Exhaust Blower Transition Plate for House Exhaust Connection; Same side 4 inch supply and 4 inch exhaust vertical plenums; Stainless steel split platforms; Edstrom Easy Lock latching mechanism or comparable which is compatible; 5 inch diameter stainless steel plate casters with high temperature phenolic wheels, (2) with brakes; Row and column identification tags; Model Number and Serial Number Tags to create a environmental housing system compatible with the existing animal housing system. The configuration for each unit shall be double-faced, 7 wide by 7 high with 14 cages per tier for a total of 98 complete housing units. All components are to be autoclavable and cage washable. Each unit must meet the 50 to 70 air changes per hour and utilize a HEPA filter. Quotes will be due Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2PM Central Standard Time.
