Description
COMBINED SYNOPSIS/ SOLICITATION This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is VA-244-09-RQ-0454. This acquisition is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 42345 with a size standard of 100. The proposed contract is for commercial supplies for which the government intends to compete amongst small business concerns. The award is anticipated to be on or around September 29, 2009. This procurement is for Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) equipment and software to perform specialized testing on surgical and cytopathology specimens. FISH detects nucleic acid sequences by a fluorescent probe that hybridizes specifically to its complementary target sequence within the intact cell. FISH can reveal submicroscopic abnormalities in non-dividing cells. This FISH laboratory will serve the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) and nine other facilities. VAPHS requires an automated FISH scanner and analysis system that has multiple applications for detecting mutations in several types of malignancies. All quotes must be received no later than 2:00pm EST on Monday, September 28, 2009. The quotes may be mailed or electronically submitted to Jennifer.hedge@va.gov. When using either method, the quotes must be received no later than 2p and the cover page MUST have been signed (you must sign and scan in your document if sending electronically). Please direct all signed quotes to: VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System 7180 Highland Drive Mail: 90C-H Pittsburgh, PA 15206 ATTN: Jennifer Hedge Or Jennifer.hedge@va.gov
