- Description
- Project 501-317, Expand GI Clinic, Building 41. This solicitation is issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) construction contract, which, pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d) and in accordance with Public Law 109-461, this construction project is a Total Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). All SDVOSB submitting an offer must be registered in the VetBiz Information pages located at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. All bidders must also be registered on www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. The NAICS Code 236220, along with size standard $33.5 million applies. Work includes general construction, alterations, drainage, mechanical and electrical work, laboratory equipment, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, tools, labor, materials, equipment, training, installation documentation and transportation necessary for the demolition, alteration, remodeling of new and existing construction of Library, Neurology and GI (Gastrointestinal) areas as required by drawings and specifications. Contract completion time is six hundred and sixteen (616) calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting/walkthrough is scheduled for July 21, 2009 at 1:00PM local time, attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. This is the only site visit that will be provided for this procurement and interested offerors are highly encouraged to attend. No hard copies of the solicitation or drawings will be provided; and telephone requests or questions will NOT be accepted. Attendees are to convene at Building 56 (Conference Room). Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on the FBO website. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. Sealed bid opening is 2:00PM (local time) on August 13, 2009. Electronic and faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires the bidders/contractors to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds. NO BIDDER'S MAILING LISTS ARE MAINTAINED WITH THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. All questions must be submitted in writing, emailed to robert.yarnell@va.gov. The solicitation will be issued on/about July 14, 2009.
