- Description
- Floor plan of Classroom B indicating where equipment is to be installed. Amendment to Solicitation OPM-09RFQ-WMDC1002 9/25/09 The following NAICS codes have been added to this solicitation: 334310 Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing (750 employees) 443112 Radio, Television and Other Electronics Stores (500 employees) 334290 Other Communications Equipment manufacturing (750 employees) 423620 Electrical and Electronic Appliance, Television, and Radio Set Merchant Wholesalers (500 employees) Q: The written scope calls for “cabinet or floor sub woofer systems”, the equipment list later states “Tannoy Ceiling Sub Woofer”, which type of sub is preferred. A: Ceiling mount Tannoy or equivalent sub woofer system. Q: Scope: “Shelf space is required for permanently installed WMDC” computer, monitor, mouse & keyboard. Can we get dimensions of these devices? Would WMDC be interested in a rack mount monitor/keyboard/mouse system? A. The shelf space size requirements are: 18 inches high, 24 inches wide, and 24 inches deep. A rack mount for the monitor, keyboards, and mice are acceptable. Q: Scope: “4 wireless lavalier, two handheld”, Equipment list – only lists the four lavaliers. Please clarify. A: 4 wireless Lavaliers, no handheld. Q: Scope: “wireless remote control system shall be included to control….lights” Is the current lighting system dimmable & controllable? If so, is the correct AV interface already in place (like a Lutron GRX-232 or contact closure interface). If there is, what type of system and what type of interface are provided for the AV control system to communicate with? A: No wireless remote control over lighting is required. Q: Who is responsible for the “data lines to existing government LAN room?” A: The WMDC has a vendor to take care of the data lines. Q: Equipment List Questions: “Digital RX card”, “Digital TX card” – for what signal type? Video or audio and in what digital format? “Digital out Card” – again, audio or video & format? A: The intention of this specification is for provisioning for wireless remote control. Q: Are there any special requirements of the VuTec screens? Tab tensioned, special screen surfaces, etc.? Would alternative screen manufacturers of equal product be considered (DaLite, Draper, Stewart)? A: No specialized requirements. Alternative screen manufacturers are acceptable. Q: Is WMDC interested in caster base for the Middle Atlantic cabinets to help make them more serviceable? A: Yes. Q: Most AV contractors do not provide high voltage power in ceilings. Do you have a contractor that can perform this work or do we need to subcontract an electrician? A: The vendor is responsible for sub-contracting an electrician to supply power for screen, overhead projectors and television monitors. Q: Blu-Ray players can also play DVD's. Is it necessary to have two DVD players in the system? A: A combination DVD/VCR is specified as the second player due to limited availability of stand alone VHS units. Q: Can you provide a sketch of the room showing where you would like the flat panels, projector, screen, touch panels and interface panels? A: There is a floor plan of Classroom B included in this amendment. It shows where the equipment is to be installed. The projector is to be installed approximately 12 feet from the front of the classroom. The interface panels are to be installed in the fake walls in front of the classroom. The screens are to be installed in the middle of each room when the divider wall is pulled out. The touch panels are on a docking station on top of the rack cabinet. Q: We assume that the router desired is a Crestron 16x16 DigitalMedia Switcher. We are not aware that this product has an AM/FM receiver card. Do you still want an external AM/FM receiver? The DigitalMedia Switcher is not a microphone mixer. We suggest that microphone mixer be added for the wireless microphones. Would you like an automatic microphone mixer to be added and if so should it also be capable of audio conferencing? A: Please add an external mixer and an AM/FM receiver to your proposal. Q: You specify digital transmit and receive cards. Are there connections to devices outside of the scope of your RFP? A: No. Q: The specifications call for a VuTec 110” electric screen with low voltage interface. Can you specify what format screen? If playing Blu-Ray discs is a priority, may we suggest a 16:9 or 16:10 wide format screen. Is a 110" screen large enough for the viewing area? A: The electric screen needs to have the capability for wide-screen viewing. Q: Are there more specifics you can include regarding lighting control? Will our scope include providing the actual dimming/relay control units or is that by others? Where will they be located? A: The lighting control is not a part of this solicitaton.
