Department of MemorandumVeterans Affairs Date: September 28, 2009 From:Michael Bermes, Contract Specialist Subj:Bowling Alley Sale ( 595-FY-09-07 ) To:All Interested Parties The Department of Veterans Affairs Lebanon VA Medical Center has a six lane American Machine and Foundry ( AMF ) bowling alley for sale. This sealed bid sale will include : 1)Brunswick Automatic all polisher 1 Brunswick Ballmaster ball cleaner 3) Cases Brunswick shoe rental sanitizer 50) pairs of various size used rental shoes 19) Used balls 3) Brunswick wood ball rack 9) Brunswick plastic six seat assembly 3) scorer's table 3) Spectrum 234 underlane ball return 6) Synthetic lanes with gutters 6) lane approach 6) AMF 82-70B Automatic Pinsetters 1) gallon Brunswick ABC All Purpose Cleaner 5) Cases DBA lane cleaner 1) case new pins 2) cases of used pins 1) lane mop and pads Service manuals for the pinspotters and ball returns The successful bidder will be responsible for the complete removal of all bowling alley equipment from this area. Successful bidder will provide manpower and equipment necessary for the removal of the bowling alley. The bowling alley will be sold - "AS IS - WHERE IS." The contract will be awarded to that responsible Bidder whose bid conforming to the Invitation will be most advantageous to the Government. You are invited to inspect and submit a bid for this SALE, if interested. Inspections will begin on September 28, 2009 from 8AM till 4PM Monday thru Friday and up to October 09, 2009. All bids must be received by Acquisition & Material Management Service., no later than 4PM EST on October 09, 2009, at the following address: Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center Bldg. 18, room 148 (125), Attn: Michael Bermes, 1700 S. Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042. Late bids will not be accepted. All bidders are highly encouraged to view the bowling alley before submitting a bid. In order to view the bowling alley you must call Robert Adams at (717) 272-6621 X 5894 to set up an appointment. Pictures are available upon request. Successful bidder will be notified by either e-mail or telephone. Upon being notified he/she must make payment either by a Certified Check or Money Order to the Department of Veterans Affairs Station ( 595 ) - before removal of the bowling alley. No Personal Checks will be accepted. The bowling alley must be removed with fourteen (14) working days from notification by the VA unless otherwise specified. If, after the award, the Purchaser breaches the contract by failure to make payment within the time allowed by the contract or by failure to remove the property within the time allowed by the contract, then the Government may send the Purchaser a 7-day written notice of default (calculated from date of notification), and upon Purchaser's failure to cure such default within that period (or such further period as the Contracting Officer may allow) the Purchaser shall lose all right, title, and interest which he/she might otherwise have acquired in and to such property as to which a default has occurred. The Purchaser agrees that in the event he/she fails to pay for the property or remove the same within the prescribed period(s) of time, the Government shall be entitled to retain (or collect) as liquidated damages a sum equal to the greater of (a) 20 percent of the purchase price of the item(s) as to which the default has occurred, or (b) $25, whichever is greater: Practices that eliminate competition, such as collusive bidding, may warrant criminal, civil, or administrative action against the participant(s) and may be referred to the Department of Justice in accordance with 41 CFR 101-45.317.1. NOTE:Bidders are to be advised that we DO NOT provide personnel or equipment to assist in the removal of the bowling alley. Also the GOVERNMENT shall not be liable for injuries, damages or any other incidents that should arise.
