- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), intends to award a Single Source contract to Inmarsat Navigation Ventures Limited to provide engineering services, test and integration of the Contractor provided Radio Frequency Uplink (RFU) subsystem and the Contractor provided I-4F3 Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellite to the Signal Generator Subsystem Type-1 (SGST), a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), support for the test and integration of the GEO Uplink Subsystem Type-1 (GUST) pair to the operational WAAS, and a service lease of 5 years, with two one-year renewal options. This service lease shall include services for the operation and maintenance of the GUST pair, and broadcast of the WAAS navigation signals (L1 and L5) by the Inmarsat I-4F3 Geostationary Satellite Payload (GSP).Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4 and AMS Procurement Guidance T3.2.2.8.A.5, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract via Single Source. Inquiries by interested vendors must be submitted to the Contracting Officer no later than Monday September 21, 2009, 12:00 p.m. (noon) Eastern Time.
