- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Johnson Screens, 515 Post Oak Blvd, Ste 600, Houston, TX 77027-9408, for 2 high-capacity, extended intake screens to be used at the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge (HNWR). Identical replication of the previously manufactured screens is a requirement as the screens currently in place were tested for their ability block non-native fish species from entering Beal Lake from Topock Marsh while still allowing enough water to flow through the system to offset evaporative losses in the lake. The two additional screens being added to the system must be compatible with the other six already in place to provide flexibility for future management options and interchangeability among all screens. The cylindrical wedge-wire screens must be manufactured using zinc alloy to deter biological growth from occurring on and blocking the flow of water through the screens. The wedge-wire must be spaced 0.6 mm apart and provide a flow capacity of 1500 gpm. This notice is being provided for informational purposes only, the anticipated award date is 09/23/2009.
