- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a modification to an existing contract for the technology development associated with an Infrared Search and Track (IRST) system. The modification will add specification requirements and statement of work tasking associated with the design, development, and support planning of IRST technology into the F/A-18 E/F aircraft weapon system. The modification will extend the current contract through the anticipated Milestone B decision for the program anticipated to occur in 4th Quarter FY10. NAVAIR intends to issue the modification to delivery order 0114 under N00019-05-G-0026 on a sole source basis to McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR’s requirements.
