- PRESOLICITATION NOTICE - SHARPS The Department of Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS)plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to obtain Waste Managementservices. The Contractor will provide a full- service Sharps ManagementSystem (all labor, material, equipment, supervision and transportation)for removal and disposal of Sharps waste in accordance with allapplicable State and Federal laws. The contractor will be required toperform services for the Oakland, Highland Drive, and Heinz locations. At this time, the solicitation will be set aside for Small DisabledVeteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The NAICS code 562111 applieswith a size standard of $12.5 Million. The contract will be arequirement type and is expected to include a base year beginning on orabout November 1, 2009 to October 31, 2010, with three (3) pre-pricedone-year options for renewal. The solicitation number for this RFQ is VA-244-09-RQ-0398. Thesolicitation will be issued on or about September 18, 2009 with ananticipated proposal due date of Oct 16, 2009 at 11am EST. The Contractor is responsible for downloading all documents includingamendments at the website listed above, without further notificationfrom the VA Contracting Officer. Contractors must be registered inCentral Contractor Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov and OnlineRepresentations and Certifications Application (ORCA) athttps://orca.bpn.gov/login.aspx NOTE: There will be a mandatory pre-bid site visit held Monday,September 28, 2009. All interested Contractors shall arrive at 7180Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 at 8:30 a.m. to Building 4, Floor3, Acquisition Conference Room. A site visit will be conducted at theHighland Drive division first, then proceed to Heinz, and finallyUniversity Drive. You must provide your own transportation between thesites. Vendors shall bring a sample of one of their proposed containersto this site visit. Proposals received from vendors that do not attendthe mandatory pre-bid site visit will not be considered.
