- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Acquisition Center intends to enter into a sole-source procurement with McKesson High Volume Solutions. This proposed award is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for (5) Enhanced Kalish EKC/RC Style (#3406) Cells with removable canisters; the Enhanced Kalish Cell is a pharmaceutical counting device. VA has determined that McKesson High Volume Solutions is the only responsible source that provides these products as the holder of exclusive rights to sell these Kalish items through manufacturer licensing. McKesson High Volume has an agreement with Nova Packaging Systems, Inc., Leominster, MA (the manufacturer of Kalish Cells), which only permits the sale of these units by McKesson High Volume Solutions. The said agreement is effective May 7,2004 through May 7,2010. No other provider of the products of this nature will satisfy this requirement, as they must be compatible with existing equipment. This will be a firm fixed price award. NAICS Code 334514 and Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees applies to this procurement. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
